These past few months have been some of the most exciting months for us, and I must document our experiences/feelings, so they are not forgotten.
This whole process has been extremely fast for us. When we decided it was time to start trying, or in reality, stop preventing, I was hoping for a somewhat slow process. I thought a transition period would be great for me. Well, my hoping was in vain, because before we knew it, I was one pregnant mama. We got our first and faint positive pregnancy test on March 11th. That night we went with Scott and Stephanie Smith to Wing Nutz to watch BYU slaughter New Mexico, and then we enjoyed frozen yogurt from Farr's Fresh for dessert. it was quite a celebration! Scott was ecstatic, I was a little hesitant. We called our parents-Jackie totally freaked out, and my parents offered their subdued excitement. Before this phone call, our families had no idea that we were taking this next step in life.
We had our first DR appointment on Wednesday, April 20th to confirm that we in fact, did have a little bun in the oven. That was the first time we heard the adorable heart beat, and watched our little guy move around in my stomach. This was so amazing. The doctor confirmed that I was 9 weeks along at this appointment.
Yesterday, June 15th, Scott and I once again visited the doctor and were so excited to learn that we have a little boy on the way. The baby has grown so much from the first ultrasound-it was a beautiful sight. We could see so many details on his adorable little body. Hands, feet, toes, and everything! At first, our little guy was crossing his legs, and the doctor couldn't see the "important parts," so the doctor took his fingers and jabbed my stomach. Sure enough, that did the trick, and our suspicions of a baby boy were confirmed. This really was no surprise to us. With Scott's family pattern, we are bound to be a family full of boys!
We are so happy with how well this pregnancy has been going. Each time we visit the doctor, they confirm that mom and baby are healthy and right on track. It is always such a relief to hear that news. I haven't been sick at all-not even once-and I really don't feel much different than my non-pregnant self. In fact, as I was driving to work this morning, I thought to myself that I LOVE being pregnant. It really is a fantastic time!
So there you have it, the first 17 weeks of my pregnancy.
What a great idea to document to always remember. Congratulations on a boy coming. So excited and happy that you have felt so well. I still can't believe you are going to have a baby though. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I had a pretty easy pregnancy too - what a blessing! It's so fun to be able to enjoy the excitement of being pregnant. And it only gets more fun! At least until the very end when moving becomes a real chore . . . still a tiny bit fun :)
