Yesterday Scott and I packed up the car and headed into the mountains for a weekend camping trip. We found a cute little campground, unpacked our belongings, set up our tent, and roasted a couple hot dogs for lunch. It was great! The weather was perfect and we enjoyed a relaxing day of reading, fishing, and taking naps.
What seemed to be a perfect day quickly went downhill when the friendly campground manager paid Scott and I a little visit. Apparently we paid the wrong fee (since there are obviously various camping fees...) and our leftover cash did not cover the price for this campground. So the manager smiled and told us to go home. With a few laughs we packed up our tent, our food, our lanterns, and lawn chairs and drove back down the mountain. As we drove away the rain started pouring. With that we once again laughed and smiled at the thought of being kicked out of a campground.
From our experience we learned that paying to camp is basically unethical, and day camping is awesome. Play all day and go home at night to a nice and comfortable bed.
sounds like so much fun even if you couldn't stay the night in the end. too bad you had paid some fee, though it was the wrong one, wasted money is never fun.
