Yesterday we embarked on an adventure up the side of Mt. Timpanogos. What a journey! I had no idea what to expect and honestly I did not think twice about going. Little did I know I was in for the long haul!
The hike started off with lovely and level ground. We happily walked through wild flowers, tiny streams, and lots of pretty trees! We even saw a couple moose (Moose-I as Scott would say). It was so beautiful. After a few hours we made it to the top. It was long and pretty hard (at least for me) but it felt great to be at the peak of the mountain. Have you seen Mt. Timp? It is HUGE!
So we rested on the rocks for a while, ate snickers as our victory treat, and then decided to make the trek down. We decided to take a different route down the mountain to switch up the scenery. The only thing between us and the bottom was a big, cold, and hard glacier. Fun at first, wretchedly miserable after the first 100 yards.
By the time we were at the car I had blisters on both feet, cramped ankles, knees, and legs. I stepped into the parking lot and felt deep gratitude for cement.
That is awesome! I'm glad I didn't hear on the news of lost hikers in the mountains!! Did you go up a trail? Good job!!
