Day 2

Day 2
After 24 hours in an airport/on an airplane, we finally made it to Switzerland. It is beautiful here. We flew into Zurich and then immediately took a train to Interlaken. Google it, Interlaken is a dream. We found our hostel flawlessly, took hot showers, enjoyed ham croissants from the bakery, and then started our adventure.

The mountains, cows, and houses in Interlaken mimic pages from a storybook. It reminds us of the perfect mix between Utah and Northern California. Lots of trees, lots of green, and HUGE, beautiful mountains. Unfortunately, today was quite foggy and we were not able to see to the top of the magnificent mountains. Lucky for us, the weather forecast for tomorrow is predicting a perfect 70 degrees Fahrenheit!

Onto dinner-we treated ourselves to a lovely restaurant called Des Alpes. If you are ever in Interlaken-you need to check this restaurant out. Under a roof of leaves, branches, and twinkle lights, we enjoyed a candlelight dinner of cheese fondue and an indescribably delicious potato dish. It was so yummy and so fun!

So that’s it-today we really just enjoyed the beautiful sights, smells, and sounds of Switzerland. I used quite a bit of Deutsch today, which was fun and accomplishing. I remembered more than I thought I would. I think Scott is pretty impressed with his little Ali girl! The German here is much easier to understand than in Vienna. Also, the people are SO friendly and very willing to listen while I butcher their beautiful language. We love Switzerland-it kind of feels like home.
