Day 5

We are at day 5 already-the time is FLYING by! Today was a wonderful day-we LOVE Rome. We went to Vatican City today, which is phenomenal and honestly a bit overwhelming. There was so much beauty and grandeur everywhere it was hard to comprehend the splendor of it all. The Catholic Church must be rolling in some serious money because they do not cut corners when it comes to building and preserving their goldmine churches. The Sistine Chapel is unreal-it was a very neat experience to sit in there and ponder the wonder of how it all came to be. I loved to know that people from all over the world and with all different faiths were visiting the Sistine Chapel and awing over the beautiful depictions of Christ, Adam & Eve, The Creation, etc. What a neat thing!

We spent so much time in Vatican City that we missed out on lunch-don't worry, we made up for that by enjoying two dinners at two different and delicious restaurants. We had a blast tonight exploring the city, buying some silly souvenirs, and poking our heads into a few churches. We even lit a candle and did a few Hail Mary's while for our favorite childhood dogs, Jake and Rocky.
We had such a blast today-Scott was on a roll and kept me laughing for the majority of the day. Our legs are tired, our feet are sore, and tomorrow we are ready to enjoy our last few hours in Rome and travel to Florence! Ciao!
