The Day of the Car Seat

I have not yet laid my fingers on this cute little car seat, but the UPS website promises us that our package is delivered and waiting for us on the front porch. I am excited to get home so I can add this important and final piece of baby gear to our collection. Now we can legitimately have our baby, and take him home from the hospital-now that is a frightening thought!

I think I may just have to strap the car seat into the Subaru tonight and take a spin, just so I know sort of how it feels to have precious cargo in the back seat. Will I drive slower? Use my blinker more? Slow down for yellow lights, rather than speed up? We shall see.

Does anyone have a baby that I can borrow for 30 minutes? The first 15 minutes will be spent with me and your baby cruising around town while the baby enjoys the comfort of a new car seat, and the latter half will be spent trying to get the baby out of the dang car seat-never an easy task-and testing out our stroller with the few minutes that are left.

  1. also definitely get a mirror to put on the headrest of the seat the baby is on so you can look at him while you drive. I love mine and can't imagine not having it. Although I catch myself looking back at him a lot! :)
