We headed to Moab a day before our race, the Red Rock Relay, so we could enjoy some of the sights. Moab is absolutely beautiful. The town is adorable and the red rock is stunning.
For our race, we had a team of 6 people, and together we ran 65 miles. Scott did amazing. I was mediocre. All together, our team was awesome. We finished in 11 hours. Considering the hills and the heat, and that the majority of us did very light to no training, we were happy with our time.
The views while we were running were amazing, which seriously helped me ignore the burning in my legs and the blisters on my feet. Utah is such a beautiful place-we are so lucky to call this place home.
We stayed at an awesome cabin with our team. We had to drive up a long and bumpy dirt road to get to the cabin, but once again, the view was amazing. After we finished our race, we drove up to the sun setting behind our cabin. A lovely and peaceful end to an exhilarating day.
On Sunday, as we headed out of Moab, we made a detour to see Dead Horseshoe Point, and WOW, was it beautiful. We had a wonderful trip, a good race, and a lovely Mother's Day, but as always, it feels great to be home.
Looks like a blast!! Hope you had a good time.

ReplyDeleteAimee, I did the race with a few of my old coworkers, Scott, and my sister Kelli. I stay at home now-my work is my baby boy.
